Rumor: No Half-Life till at least 2011

The wait between Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 3 has been long, and if this rumor is true it will be even longer.

Game Informer picked up a rumor in their most recent issue saying that there “won’t be any game from the [Half-Life] franchise in 2010, and what will finally come out is still unknown,

As of right now the only real details about Episode 3 that we have heard is that valve is trying to incorporate a character who’s deaf and speaks sign language. Cross your fingers for a early Spring 2011 release.

  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

That aside, we’d better get some information on it this year at least. Last year we got like 2 pieces of concept art, that was it, and those were leaked, they weren’t actually revealed by Valve.

Yeah, we’d better see something this year.

  2. The thing that ticks me off the most about this is that Valve said they were going to go to episodic installments of the HL series SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW! If there’s no ep3 this year, that’s 4 years without new HL content, and with the cliffhanger they left ep2 on, I just can’t take this!

Valve, I know the L4D series made a lot on consoles, but do not forget where you came from and what made you a household name in gaming in the first place.

    Also – Portal 2?

    *sad panda*

  3. Why would they integrate such a radically different game mechanic into the last episode of a game that’s been on the market for years?

Wouldn’t they make a new title to try it on? All Valve’s doing is angering their fans.
