Star Wars: The Old Republic not releasing until Spring 2011

According to EA’s CEO John Ricitiello, Star Wars: The Old Republic won’t be officially released until early 2011. While the wait will be long, Ricitello assured us that they plan on releasing information on the game all throughout 2010 to hold gamers over.

“While we have not announced a specific date, we can confirm that we are targeting a spring 2011 release for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. We’ve got a lot of exciting updates and reveals planned throughout 2010, including the first-ever hands-on testing for the game.”

If you haven’t already, you can sign up for a chance to beta test the game here.

  1. I feel a great disturbance in the fandom, as if a million voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced 🙁
Well, at the very least, that gives me enough time to get a computer which will actually run the game.

  2. What?! StopDropAndBear has it right: We’re dying here! I’ve been waiting for this game to finish up, and now they extend the deadline almost a year. My computer will need an upgrade for that game, anyways, too. With that extra time, it should be better!
