Capcom cut “significant” content from Lost Planet 2 due to Xbox 360 disc limitations

While the 360’s DVDs have faster loading times then Blu-Ray and lack of the need to install games, it does have one thing it is missing – Space. While Blu-Rays have a boat load of space to work with, DVDs are a bit more limited.

According to Lost Planet 2’s Producer Jun Takeuchi their development team has been struggling because of the limitations of DVDs.

When asked how development was going Takeuchi answered, “There wasn’t especially any big trouble. More than those kind of difficulties, the edited content was way too much and dealing with that was more difficult than anything.

Takeuchi added “This time, truly, the content that was cut was significant and at the end, we had to wrestle with disc space.” But, Takeuchi thinks there is still a chance for the cut content saying “I think we could be able to add that content at a later date as downloadable content.” Hooray technology!

Lost Planet 2 is launching May 18th in both Europe and North America.
