New Sonic 4 Details and Screen Shots; May Include Tails and Knuckles

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 details and media have been few and far between aside from leaked, but in an Interview with Game Informer Takashi Iizuka spilt some details and teased that new characters might be on the way in Episode 2.

As previously announced, Sonic will be keeping his classic Spin Dash and Rolling attack while adding his newer Homing attack as well, but according to Takashi Iizuka he will be getting one more attack as well, but wouldn’t detail it

Special stages will also be returning along with the classic “try again” ending screen if players don’t successfully collect all the emeralds.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has created quite an argument in terms of graphics, but Takashi says that the graphics in Sonic 4 aren’t actually 3D, they are pre-rendered CG graphics.

Fans who are expecting a more then just Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be happy to hear that Takashi said “Fans will be very pleased with the cast in episode 2” when asked about the possible inclusion of Tails and Knuckles.

You can see screen shots from the magazine after the jump.

    1. Think of Donkey Kong Country, instead of having 3D models in the game, they apply animations to 3D models on their computers, then turn frames of those animations into sprites, flat 2D images, then reanimate them. It’s kinda like a flipbook. You’re not seeing the actual thing, but it looks like it.

  1. Can’t make a follow up to S3&K (even if you only call it a spritiual one) without Tails and Knuckles! And please make Super Forms playable in stages again, SEGA!
