Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is set for this holiday season, so it is about time we finally hear some concrete info on the title. Official Xbox Magazine has a lengthy article about the title containing some new details about the title.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is set to take place in Mexico city. There, players will have to perform recon missions just as they have in past games. To get the job done, players will have access to four classes each with their own unique abilities. Ubisoft announced the classes and listed one major piece of equipment for each class: Commandos who have seeking missiles, Recons with cloaking devices, Engineers with UAV droids, and Snipers with long-range target designation.
While each class has unique features, one piece of equipment every soldier has is the exo-skeleton armor. This allows players to sprint, slide tackle, and jump over small obstacles despite all the heavy equipment they are carrying. All soldiers will also be able to perform close combat take down moves.
Future Soldier will have a 8 vs. 8 multiplayer mode for capture the flag and domination along with drop in and drop out co-op campaign missions for up to four players. Team work is encouraged through special benefits from different classes when they are close together. For example, players who stick by a Recon class player will gain the effects of cloaking. To make staying together easier, there is even a follow button you can press to follow teammates automatically.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is heading to a wide variety of platforms this holiday season including PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable.
