Square-Enix Making Games About Bears According to ESRB

You may think Final Fantasy XIII is Square-Enix’s game of the year, but Square-Enix has something else up their sleeves involving crystals…and bears… and no not Crystal Bearers.

The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Chaotic Conflicts and The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Puzzling Pages were rated by the ESRB. Both titles are from Square-Enix and have the same description.

This is an action-strategy game in which players throw paper cut-outs of bears at little creatures on a storybook game board. Bears can attack enemy creatures that are trying to steal the players’ crystals. “Cartoony” bombs occasionally explode on the board, and paper-bear attacks sometimes result in fiery bursts.

The titles is listed for Wii and are probably a WiiWare titles.

Unfortunately, Square-Enix will not be publishing the game of the year for all years, Incomprehensible Grizzly Bear Forest Adventure, which has yet to see a release.

  1. The name “Bearsworth” makes me think of a bear wearing a top hat and a monocle. That in turn makes me think of SDB. Obviously, this is a game starring SDB. Square-Enix made a wise casting move there.
