French Website Says Beyond Good and Evil 2 Cancellation and Creator Leaving Rumors Are 100% False

A french website contacted Ubisoft about a little rumor yesterday that claimed that creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil, Michel Ancel, had left the company. The rumor also claimed that Beyond Good and Evil 2’s development had been halted or canned.

The french website, gameblog, reported that Ancel is still with Ubisoft and that the Beyond Good and Evil 2 project is still underway. Ubisoft still hasn’t released an official statement, so whether or not either gameblog or woot gaming, the source of the rumor, are telling the truth is unknown.

If the rumors are false, hopefully Ubisoft’s response will be a trailer for the title at E3. A press release would be fine and dandy, but I think not just coming out and saying it would give the trailer a little more of an edge.
