Rumor: Creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil Leaving Ubisoft; Beyond Good and Evil 2 Possibly Canned

Father of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil, Michel Ancel, has been reported leaving Ubisoft by french website wootgaming. According to the website, Ancel decided to pursue developing more classic styled games along with another currently unknown developer who is also leaving Ubisoft.

Apparently the fate of Ancel’s sequel to the cult hit, Beyond Good and Evil, isn’t looking good. Wootgaming says that apparently there was some internal issues surrounding the project. At this point, the project is on hold, or worse – canceled.

Both Beyond Good and Evil and I Am Alive, another suspiciously quiet title by Ubisoft,  were rumored to be canceled early this year. Ubisoft denied those claims saying they were both still in production. But that was almost five months ago now. Anything could happened between then and now.
