Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Delayed Till Late 2010; iPhone Version Confirmed

Through a joint exclusive with Sonic Stadium and Sonic Retro, SEGA has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will be launching “Late 2010.”

The title is set to hit WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network, but SEGA also announced today tha the title will be available on iPhones and iPod Touch as well.

The title was originally scheduled for Summer 2010. But as you can see, it won’t be making that window now.

In the mean time, if you haven’t checked out some of Sonic’s earlier outings that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is based upon, you can check out the recently released Sonic’s Classic Collection on Nintendo DS with Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 and Sonic & Knuckles on a single catridge. But of course, there are tons of other ways to play the past Sonic games.

  1. THAT was their big news that they wanted to share with people? Really? Oh yeah guys, we’ve got something awesome that we’re planning on telling you in a couple weeks! [time passes] The game is delayed! Hahahaha that’s our news!

I wouldn’t have been bothered by a delay, but they could have found a better way to announce it. The whole “big news” thing was just ASKING to have their fans up in arms.
