Kid Icarus: Uprising’s trailer would lead most to believe that the title would be a singleplayer exclusive adventure. But it seems that may not be the case according to Masahiro Sakurai, head of Project Sora.
“The online capabilities are currently being tested [for the 3DS]. There could be some versus play but we can’t go into any detail. There are a lot of capabilities that expand on what was in the DS that people are taking advantage of.”
Considering the game looks like mostly on-rails gameplay, its kind of hard to imagine what exactly would come out of a multi-player Kid Icarus experience. But considering the franchise has been dormant for over 20 years, Sakurai has quite a bit of freedom for creating a multi-player mode.
