Nintendo Trademarks Multiple 3D Titles

We saw a huge list of titles that are on the way to Nintendo 3DS at E3. But what you are about to see will blow all that away.

Nintendo has trademarked the names 3D Challenge, 3D Paddleball, and 3D Hopper. Day one purchase.

In all seriousness, this software sort of sounds like downloadable titles.  And based on all of them having 3D in the title, they are probably for Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo also trademarked CrossPass, CrossPass Mode, CrossPass Network, and CrossPass Connection.  These are probably related to the DS’s Tag mode, which Nintendo said they wanted to expand upon with Nintendo 3DS.

  1. Hmm… sounds like it would fit well with 3D Crossword and 3D Sudoku.

More seriously, though, I hope Nintendo doesn’t start getting gimmicky with the 3D stuff like they did with motion controls for a while.
