Today we got a bunch of info on the upcoming game, Kid Icarus: Uprising. The details came from an article of Nintendo Power, Nintendo’s long running magazine. You can check out all the new info after the jump.
-First, we learn that the title, Uprising, actually has three different meanings. The first has to do with the uprising of the Kid Icarus series itself, as this is basically a revival of the series. The second has to do with the uprising of the underworld army, the antagonists of the game. Finally, uprising represents Pit, the protagonist, rising into the sky as he flies.
-Next, we learned that Nintendo wants to make the game “accessible to a widge range of players.” At the same time, there will be a lot of depth for experienced players.
-There will be supposedly simple controls for the game, which makes sense if they really do want to market this game to everybody (Personally, I have a hard time getting used to the controls on new games). You can press the “L” button to fire your weapon. Movement will be controlled by the 3DS’ slide pad. The stylus allows you to aim your weapon, similar to the bow in the DS Zelda titles. You can control the camera movement via the touch screen as well.
-Pit can fire while diving to the side.
-Pit will actually keep some of his moves from Brawl, although many of his attacks are being kept secret.
-The game takes place 23 years after the original and will feature the final showdown with Medusa.
-Finally, we learned that there will be many “additional features and attractions” other than the main adventure
Being a big fan of Kid Icarus, these new details just excite me even more. This game is sure to be a big hit, if only for nostalgia.
