Still Hope for Epic Mickey On PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

Epic Mickey was one of the big Wii exclusives Nintendo lined up at this year’s E3, but it looks like Nintendo could potentially lose that exclusivity thanks to Microsoft and Sony’s  new motion controllers.

Before Move and Kinect I probably would have said no, because the game is built around gesturing” explained Warren Spector.”Now, however, there’s no reason technologically why we couldn’t.

Spector said that he doesn’t have the power to say what platforms Epic Mickey will appear on. So far, no one from higher up has told him to start considering a port, but it seems Spector is happy the way things are. “I’ve been a Nintendo fan a long time, and I’ve been pretty open about the fact that the Zelda games are some of my favourite of all time. So we’re a Wii exclusive and I’m happy about that.

If I had to say which platform Epic Mickey would appear on, it would probably be on PlayStation 3 with PlayStation Move. The controllers are very similar to the Wii’s. Kinect, with its lack of buttons, seems a bit less suited for the title.

  1. I wonder how Microsoft is going to feel when the best game on the Kinect (because everything else is going to fail miserably) was originally a Wii exclusive.

  2. Well then, I think it would work with PS3 and Wii, but the Kinect doesn’t look like it would do this game. With connect you would need to move your entire body to play, and this game doesn’t look like it will be able to do it with your the kinect, but that’s just me.
