Square-Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura oversees a lot of big titles. So when he starts talking, Square-Enix fansF definitely want to listen. Square-Enix’s ever growing list of employees on Twitter is giving us more and more in-sight into these titles while we still wait for their releases.
Of course the hot topic for Square-Enix is Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The title skipped E3 and, according to Nomura, will be skipping over Gamescom as well, along with Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Nomura said that the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been particularly difficult, but he assures fans that the teams on the project are working as hard as they can.
In terms of actual details, he once again mentions the overworlds of the title. He reveals that they very similar to the 2D Final Fantasy fields, but the title doesn’t carry the 2D top down view. Instead, it is a behind the back view similar to what you have seen in the last few Final Fantasy titles. Nomura said there is plenty to talk about when it comes to Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but cannot reveal more until the title is closer to release.
Even though the four year wait has seemed to last forever, the titles are still in the distance in terms of release. Nomura said multiple unannounced titles are in the works that are actually scheduled to launch before Agito andVersus. These titles are set to be revealed shortly.
As for Gamescom, Nomura said they will be focusing mainly on Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded and Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday. Both titles are in the final stages of development and are set to launch later this year.
