IO Interactive May Lay Off More Workers Due to “Cancelled Project”

IO Interacitve, the creators of the Kane & Lynch and Hitman series may be laying off more workers. It is rumored that the company will by firing as many as 35 staffers (a surprising number given the time of the year)

According to George Broussard, co-owner of 3D Realms, through his twitter:

If this is true, it would be the second time IO done this this year, with the first wave being back in March.

As to the cancelled project, we don’t know much of anything about it at this point. There was a rumor as well as some concept art for Hitman 5, which would be the first time IO would release a new game in the franchise since 2006. It is possible that this could be the reported project, but we’ll have to wait and see.
