SEGA has been pretty busy with the Phantasy Star series lately. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity and Phantasy Star Online 2 were both announced at Tokyo Game Show. Now, two more trademarks popped up that points to more on the way.
Siliconera stumbled across Phantasy Star: Eternal Planets and Phantasy Star: Eternal Hunters trademarks. While the trademarks could just be SEGA securing seperate names till they decide which to use, Siliconera suggests they may be going for a Pokemon style companion game strategy like Pokemon Red and Blue, Pokemon Black and White, etc.
With both the Universe and Online line of titles currently being covered, it would be nice to see a return to the more traditional Phantasy Star RPG title. Although, SEGA hasn’t really seemed interested in making any more of those. We will have to wait and see what these titles bring.
