Capcom Announces New Characters, Release Date, and Special Edition for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is getting closer to completion as Capcom has set a date for the title in both North America and Europe. North Americans can expect to pick up the title on February 15th, followed by Europeans on February 18th.

Capcom has also announced new characters. We’re a little late on these two, but She Hulk and Zero will be in the title. You can check out some gameplay and screenshots of both of the characters. Two more characters were announced today, adding Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath. Although there is a bit of a catch to these two characters, initially they will only be avaialbe via the special edition in North America, 4 weeks after release.

“What special edition”, you may ask. Keep on reading.

North Americans are going to be able to purchase a special edition of the game for $69.99. The special edition will include a steel case featuring exclusive art, a comic/art book featuring a 12 page prologue comic, campaign artwork, and select fan art. The special edition also includes a free month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics. A pretty light set, but the bonus characters ahead of time make it worth it.

If you want some more Marvel vs. Capcom 3 swag, you can preorder the game at Gamestop. This score players three Marvel vs. Capcom 3 themed console decals featuring Ryu, Wolverine Deadpool and Dante.

Fun stuff, now here are some videos and screens.
