Rumor: SOCOM Developers Working on Multi-Player Focused Resident Evil

Remember the first multi-player focused Resident Evil titles? Yeah, not too fabulous. Resident Evil 5, though? Pretty good. Capcom may be looking into moving the next big entry in the series to a multi-player focused title.

Kotaku received a document for a Resident Evil title with the sub name Raccoon City. The document lists Slant Six as the developers. They have previously worked on the SOCOM series. The document suggests it will be a team-based title, but didn’t get into specifics.

With Capcom picking up Western developers for titles like Devil May Cry and Dead Rising 2, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this move made. When Kotaku asked Capcom to comment, they responded, “Capcom does not respond to rumors and/or speculation.” Surprise, surprise.

The only currently announced Resident Evil titles are both heading to Nintendo 3DS.
