Sony Announces New PlayStation 3 Headset

Silly old PlayStation headset getting all old and crusty? Time to upgrade! Sony has announced a new redesign of the PlayStation 3’s bluetooth headset.

The device is 30% smaller than the previous model and also has a exclusive high quality mode for PlayStation 3 users that features crystal clear voice chat. Outside of gaming use, the headset’s functions with mobile phones have been improved, allowing for call holding and three way calling. The headset is also compatible with all bluetooth 1.1 devices and up. The headset also comes with a charging cradle, so you can easily charge it.

Those looking to upgrade will find the device in stores some time later this month for the price of $49.99.  No word on a European release yet, but you can probably expect it to show up in your region.
