Civ IV Musical Theme : Nominated for a Grammy

Yep, you read that right.  Civilization 4 composer Christopher Tin has been nominated for a Grammy with his work called Baba Yetu.  He is currently a nominee in the category of “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists”. You can pick up his album, Calling All Dawns to snag the awesome song.

Beleive it or not, this is actually the first time that a video game musical score has been nominated for a grammy.  Considering the epic music that video games have produced over the yeras, you’d think this would have happened sooner!  Video Games Live Executive Producer had this to say:  “As video games start to evolve more into our culture and become a bigger part of mainstream society, we’re hoping to see a lot more of this kind of thing happening in the future.”

So make sure and go support our gaming culture this February 13, 2011!
