Tomb Raider Reboot is Dark and Gritty

I’m not sure any series has seen nearly as many “reboots” as the Tomb Raider franchise. But yet again, here we are with another reboot.

Game Informer has a first look at the game with all new screenshots, CG, and concept art. I’m not entirely sure what to think of the new dark and gritty style of the game. It will be intresting to see if Square-Enix swings their own way with the title, or try to create a carbon copy of the Uncharted series.

The title is set for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The current release window is 2011, but with all the delays Square-Enix and Eidos have been calling recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it pushed back.

  1. Wait… she looks like a realisticly porportioned person. I though the whole point of Tomb Raider was to be slipshot, thrown together productions with an impossibly busty protagonist. That way games would in the millions despite horrible gameplay.
