Sting and Atlus team up to make “Gungnir”

While Atlus is known by pretty much every JRPG afincinado, Sting may be a name that most people are unfamilar with. They re best known for the Dept Heaven series which so far consists of Riviera: The Promised Land, Yggdra: We Will Never Fight Alone and Knights in the Nightmare which were first released on GBA/DS and then were later ported to the PSP. After Blaze Union: Story to Reach the Future (a spinoff from Yggdra), the company has been pretty quiet in recent times… until now. Famitsu revealed today that Sting is currently working on Gungnir: The War Hero and the War God’s Demon Lance, a tactical RPG for the PSP that puts you in the role of Julio Ragnell who comes into contact with the signature weapon in question (Odin’s Spear in Norse Mythology). Other than Alyssa, Elise, and Julio’s brother Ragnus Ragwell being in the game, There isn’t much news about the games characters however Famitsu did confirm that Point Pictures, the team behind Yggdra Union’s opening cinematioc will also be working on an intro to this game. The game will be released in Japan on May 19th and considering that Sting’s games usually get released over here, expect a localisation to come soon afterwards.
