Megaman Universe is Canceled

Mega Man Universe, the upcoming downloadable Mega Man game, has been canceled. The cancellation is not entirely surprising as the game wasn’t very well received during the Tokyo Game show and the main man behind it, Keiji Inafune, has left the company. Originally Mega Man Universe was designed to be a sort of fan-centric classic style Mega Man with a level creator. It boasted all kinds of different Capcom characters and even a version of Mega Man based off of the US boxart for the original Mega Man. We can only hope that this doesn’t bode poorly for the new Mega Man Legends 3 set to come to 3DS.

  1. Aww, that’s too bad. :/ It looked interesting.

…this makes me even more worried for MML3, though; it’s not even technically greenlit to begin with, and if that gers canceled, I will honestly cry. Or at least scream “CAPCOOOOOOM” to the heavens in a fit of rage.

  2. Huh, I wondered why we didn’t hear anythign about it. And it was suppose to be a level creator? I dunno, I can see a bit of why capcom would stop after you know hwo left. Also, mml3, please make it through development 🙁

  3. I was just thinking about this game the other day. Huh. Well yeah, I remember it having a pretty bad reception. I don’t think this has anything to do with why Mega Man Legends 3 would get canned, but it definitely is a concern. Although it is more for the fact that Mega Man Legends 3 hasn’t even been green-lit yet.
