As many a PC zombie killer has already discovered; the developers of the newly released game Dead Island, Deep Silver, have made a huge mistake in their release of the game on Steam.
Instead of shipping the final product for the digital download service, they accidentally sold an early development build of the Xbox 360 version, incomplete and sporting multiple glitches and bugs, as well as no-clip mode enabled by default and toggled with a simple press of the “Y” key.
“We deeply regret that an incorrect version of Dead Island was inadvertently made available to players on Steam launch in North America,” Deep Silver confirms before adding: “We are very sorry for any issues you may have experienced while playing the game-the correct, patched version will be made available to North American players ASAP. Other territories are not affected by this situation. The fully patched game will be available on Friday as announced.” It takes guts to admit that the switch was merely on account of human error, and they’re working hard to make it right.
