Good news everyone! I now have control of the blog (and I’m only one step closer to becoming admin). also I’ll begin posting my journey into screen printing for all you to enjoy since I’ll be in charge of the new TSG shirt division called Tee S G
Alright, so if you’ve been keeping up with previous blog posts you might’ve seen where Local mentioned looking into making our own shirts. Now after seeing Local mention printing our own shirts, and Local living in Georgia, the first thing that came to my mind was:
OMG SCREEN PRINTING PARTY!
Then I realized there was lots of things we’ll have to do before hand and since I’m a young business man with no life expenses I might as well get working on it.
Ok, so the first thing I saw was this video and it made me think, “Wow! This is easy I can totally do this!”
Then I started reading the article that Local mentioned and then after watching that I thought it was a done deal just get some ink and a screen no problem, but after looking up videos and checking out t-shirt forum and other sites and I found out if I want this thing to be professional I’m gonna have to do a bit better than just a light bulb and a bottle of ink.
So my first thought is to get on reddit and hopefully find a sub-reddit that might teach me all the ropes and everything I need to buy … http://www.reddit.com/r/screenprint … but as you can tell it’s a little empty.
One good thing that did come outta this reddit search was this:
Next up on my cruise around the internet are these guys http://www.youtube.com/user/anthemscreenprinting/featured
These guys have their own screen printing business and everything so I watched their videos and learned a lot of stuff that wasn’t covered in that first video I saw (such things as having to degrease a brand new screen etc.)
Alright, so over the next few weeks you’ll be seeing me copy and pasting all the original blog posts I had on tumblr, though a lot of the flavor will be lost since I’m paying more attention to editing this time around and since all those posts were presented in real time and lacking the knowledge as I went along. Unrelated I just got deja vu about a previous marathon. The next post will probably be about the exposure unit.
