MERRY OBLIGATORY ICE LEVEL DAY!!!!!! I hope all of you are having a great time with your family and friends! What, you didn’t think I’d leave you without one last OILD post, did you? So here’s the last ice level of the year! It’s Hazakura Temple, from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials & Tribulations!
Hazakura Temple! Also known as Hazakurain. It’s a special place!
The Ace Attorney games center around Phoenix Wright, a defense lawyer who tends to take on seemingly unwinnable cases. Fortunately, Phoenix has a knack for creating a turnabout, seeing clues that everyone else missed and uncovering truths nobody could have guessed. It’s full of drama, but it’s not exactly realistic either. The game is full of goofy, silly characters, and getting to know these characters is the key to turning things around. Phoenix’s allies include Maya Fey, a young spirit medium in training, because hey, that’s not weird at all! In this third installment in the series, he also meets up with Godot, a weirdo prosecutor in a strange robot mask who seems to relate everything to coffee for some crazy reason. I’d love to explain more, but the game is full of insane plot twists. No spoilers!
So Hazakura Temple is a very important part of AA3. Phoenix sees a very intriguing news article, and decides to accompany Maya to the temple. See, Hazakura is a sacred place for spirit mediums, and Maya sees it as a great spot to continue her training. While visiting the temple, they meet Elise Deauxnim, a humble children’s book author. They also see some interesting sights, like a huge statue bearing a shichishitō, and a rickety old bridge. What’s that? You want plot points? Well I said no spoilers!
An otherworldly peace.
We also have a nice remix, but I’ll save that for later, heh.
So we have not one, but TWO bonus pieces for this stage! Ace Attorney is very big in Japan, so it attracts a lot of manga-style illustrators!
First is Godot in the snow! Godot investigates Hazakura as well, so it fits that he’s in this snowy scene. This gorgeous digital painting is by an artist called Yumi, and you should definitely check out more of her art in her gallery! Thank you so much, Yumi! This pic is amazing!
Next is a watercolor painting of Hazakura’s bridge! This is by Space Coyote, and it’s pretty wonderdful! Can you believe she’s only been using watercolors for a week? I’ve known people who’ve tried watercolor for years who can’t put out something this awesome! You can see her progress and more art on her Tumblr! Thanks a million! 😀
And finally, we have one other bonus for you, and it’s this!
HEY MAN WE ROCKED THAT MARIO U AND IT HAD YOSHIS AND AN ICE LEVEL SO HERE YOU GO! And YES, there’s a full wallpaper HERE!
So yeah, about that remix… clearly you need Super Mario’s Sleigh Ride by the OneUps, which was featured in this montage right here! Also check out Whitescape, the White Land remix by Rozovian! That album also has some other great ice level mixes in it too, so give it a go! And don’t forget the OILD ’09, ’10, ’11, and ’12 albums!
Again, A HUGE thanks to Yumi, KingKalamari, Zarla, Space Coyote, Squint, Joshua Morse, Ravepulse, PKGamerB, and Kylethedarkn for adding content! And a huge thanks to everyone who’s spread the word! Not just about OILD, but for the marathon itself!
Now GET OUT OF HERE! GO! GO BE HAPPY ON THE HOLIDAYS! GET OUT OF HERE AND HAVE FUN BEFORE I SMACK YA!
MERRY OBLIGATORY ICE LEVEL DAY TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GREAT EXTRA STAGE!
