Nintendo Power Confirms Shantae Sequel for DSiWare

A few weeks ago WayForward tweeted about Nintendo Power’s DSiWare surprise title, while many guessed Shantae it wasn’t confirmed till this month’s Nintendo Power preview. The preview scan confirmed Shantae will be arriving on DSiWare in three episodic titles coming to Nintendo DS. The first of which is Shantae: Risky’s Revenge which will be hitting DSiWare later this year.

The original Shantae was released so late in the Game Boy Color’s life cycle that many people didn’t get a chance to play it. I was one of them who didn’t, but if I ever get a DSi I’ll definitely look giving the series a shot.  Did you play the first one and will you be picking up the new titles?

The preview scan is after the jump.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope finally making its way to the PS3

Star Ocean: The Last Hope fell prey to Microsoft’s endless wallet who most likely payed for it to be a timed exclusive on the 360. But their wallet can’t hold games back forever though, aside from  a few exceptions most of these titles end up over on the Playstation 3 at some point in their life time.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope finally is making its way to the PS3 in Japan under the  “International” label Square-Enix has been putting on their games in Japan for quite some time. The International Version in Japan will include added content, a tweaked battle system and English voice acting. The title is also being re-released on the X-box 360 with the new content.

There is no confirmation on a launch outside of Japan yet, but the inclusion of English voice acting does make the game import friendly though. So if you can get over the menus being in Japanese then importing is definitely an option if you don’t have a 360 or just want the extra content.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Free DLC this Thursday

Batman fans have probably already explored every nook and cranny of Arkham Asylum, but Eidos is bringing in more content to all versions, including the PC version, this Thursday.  And it comes with the best price tag of them all, free.

The content will include two new modes, “Totally Insane” Free Flow Combat map which has you defending  the asylum’s secure records facility from waves of enemies and Nocturnal Hunter which has you stealthily removing Joker’s patrol of goons by using Arkham’s Watch tower and Batmans gadgets.

The PC version of Arkham Asylum is coming to North America September 15th. Europe will be getting the PC version September 18th.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers barely lands in 2009 for North America

If you were planning on giving or receiving Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers on Christmas day you are out of luck. The game releases the day after Christmas in North America, December 26th. It seems like an odd date for North America, but it could be that they are trying to benefit from all the shoppers  after the holidays looking to spend their holiday earnings or gift cards.

Quite possibly the only graphically impressive 8-bit style next gen title. It almost like watching a stop frame lego movie.  It’s coming November 5th in Japan exclusively for the Playstation 3 . You can check out the Japanese website here.
