Well, we’ve finally gotten an official release date for Pokémon Black and Pokémon White versions from a press release earlier today.
In the press release, they shattered rumors of the April 17th or so release date and instead announced that the games will be released in North America on Sunday, March 6th in 2011!
Nintendo also said in the press release a lot of things we already know, such as version exclusive areas, Reshiram and Zekrom, and the changing seasons.
And for you TSGer’s, we no longer need to worry about not having access to english versions of the game during the marathon.
A trailer was also released for the games, which you can find after the jump
What a great year for TheSpeedGamer community. In 2010 we raised over $129,000 out of our total $254,000. That doesn’t include the unforgettable auction we helped host with our friends over at Fangamer that pulled in $10,146 for the Michael J Fox Foundation. 2011 looks to be an even bigger year starting with a surprise announcement regarding our upcoming marathons. We are hoping to make that announcement on January 1st.
On a side note the “TSG Boy” shirts have arrived and will be shipping this Monday.
As we come ever closer to the release of the 3DS next year, details begin to emerge. Today we got a list of games scheduled for release when the system releases next Spring.
However, alongside the reconformation of the February release date for Japan, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Nintendogs + Cats, Steel Driver, PilotWings Resort were listed as “Spring 2011” releases.
Is it possible we could see Zelda: OoT 3D as early as February (in Japan)? This information seems to say so.
Other games such as Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Starfox are still “TBA”, while Kid Icarus: Uprising is scheduled for a vague “2011” release. Keep in mind we haven’t received any information on 3rd party launch titles.
What games will you get when the 3DS launches?
If you’re like me, then you view the Silent Hill series as a massively underappreciated gem of fictional horror, on par with some of our greatest literary triumphs. If you’re not like me? Well, shame on you!
Konami recenetly released some details about Silent Hill 8 [which is a working title]. The game will once again take place in the town of Silent Hill, in the realm of darkness and sin. Murphy Pendleton, a convict, is stuck in the town after his prison transport veers off course, and crash lands him smack dab in the worst possible location. Horrors will abound, as Pendleton is faced with the embodiment of sin and horror itself.
“In honoring the rich history and strong following of Silent Hill, we’re working hard to build a next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve… This Silent Hill introduces an all-new storyline and unique evolutions in gameplay, building on innovations and successes from over a decade of true survival horror and terror.” said Hirano, Konami President.
The game is scheduled for a 2011 release on the Playstation 3 and Xbox360 consoles.
