Mike Mika from Other Ocean, developer of Dark Void Zero, talked to Gamasutra about the possibilities of more titles like Dark Void Zero.
“Absolutely. When we were doing this, about halfway through we realized that this was actually turning out to be something really fun and that other people would enjoy it. For a while, we just though, “Hey, this is satisfying our geeky needs, and we don’t know how many people out there would really like it.”
But now, it’s starting to look like a lot of people like this sort of thing. And the response we’ve gotten is so positive that it’s going to be hard to think that we wouldn’t follow up with something along these lines.”
Sounds like a pretty good plan to me! Dark Void Zero turned out to be quite the success and it may prove to be an even bigger success when Dark Void Zero hits PCs and iPhones on April 12th.
If you missed out on Dark Void Zero thanks to a lack of a DSi, you will soon be able to pick it up on other platforms.
Capcom has announced that Dark Void Zero, a 8-bit retro side scroller, is heading to both PC and the iPhone. It will be available on both platforms starting April 12th.
The new versions feature achievements and leader boards for speed runs and high scores. If those added additions don’t sound fancy enough for you, the game also has a secret new ending you can get.
Pricing details weren’t announced, but the title costs $5 on DSiWare. So we can probably expect something comparable.
If neither the DSi, iPhone, or PC are the platform of your choice, keep in mind Capcom recently said Dark Void Zero seems like “a natural fit” for consoles. So, there is a good chance we may see it on those platforms as well.
Don’t have a DSi but want to play some Dark Void Zero? Your chance to get in on the action elsewhere might come according to Capcom’s Seth Killian.
When asked about the possibility of Dark Void Zero coming to WiiWare, PSN, or XBLA Seth replied “You have not yet heard the last of Dark Void Zero, but I dunno what the plans might be for Wii/X360/PS3. None as yet, but it does seem like a natural fit.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the title head to iPhone/iPod Touch at some point as well.

Dark Void Zero is the DSiWare game based off the upcoming shooter Dark Void. The title is in a retro style similar to that of Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 and is due out later this month.
