First Look at Black Op’s First Strike Map Pack

Bored of Nuketown yet, or of Call of Duty: Black Ops in general? Well, Activision is looking to revitalize your intrest, along with taking $15 from your wallet. On February 1st, Xbox 360 owners will be able to try their hand at the new First Strike map pack!

The release is complete with five new maps, one of which is a new zombie map. Competitive multiplayer maps include Berlin Wall, Discovery, Kowloon, and Stadium.

As of right now, PC and PS3 details haven’t been released, but you can probably guess that they will be coming some point in the future. I’m sure Microsoft is paying a lot of money to keep Activision quiet for now though.

You can check out Treyarch’s trailer/developer diary for the pack after the jump.

Capcom Costume Conumdrum

For PS3 owners of Super Street Fighter IV, you might have noticed a lack of preview functions for the latest release of costume DLC.  Xbox360 owners, however, have a full preview functionality.  Capcom has finally shed some light on the situation.  Essentially, Microsoft covered the costs included in transferring the data to the game owners.  Sony, however, did not.  Because Capcom does not wish to foot the bill, PS3 owners should refer to google before purchase.

Mass Effect 2 : GOTY DLC Discount

It’s always such a nice time of the year when your game is getting hailed left and right as the prestigious “Game of the Year”.  While in such a good mood, looks like Mass Effect 2 developers are offering the DLC packs “Lair of the Shadow Broker,” “Overlord,” and “Kasumi” for a small amount of only 200 Microsoft Points.  While they have previously discounted these DLC packs in the past, here’s your chance [and my chance!] to snag the bonuses.

Fallout New Vegas Dead Money DLC : Now Available

Great news for Xbox360 owners [*grumbles*PS3*grumbles*]!  You can now purchase the DLC for Fallout New Vegas, entitled “Dead Money” for the rather low price of 800 Microsoft Points.  With new weapons, new characters and new mission material, it’s a great deal that can help extend the already long life of the game.

Dead Money will follow the Courier as he/she finds themselves embroiled in a life/death game in search of a long lost treasure of Vegas.

No word on PC/PS3 release times for the SAME CONTENT.  I wonder how much it would take to bribe Mass Effect’s directors to offer Mass Effect 3 DLC for Ps3 only [thus promoting PS3 sales of the game] and see how THEY LIKE IT.  >:/  [Yes, it’s not very professional to use emoticons, but this situation warrants it.]

Marvel VS Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds : No Demo Version

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Strategic Planning Vice President Christian Svensson [on the Marvel VS Captom division] has announced that there will NOT be a download demo of the upcoming title.

Svenson also announced that there will be down-loadable characters for a small fee.  While most gamers are quuk to rise up in anger over teh subject of paying full retail price for a game, and getting nickel and dimed on the extras, Svenson stated that “DLC is part of the business model these days given the massive costs of production and can be the difference between a profitable product and an unprofitable product.”

My many condolences to the TSG fighting game thread viewers and contributers.
