The new version of flash released yesterday does more than plug security holes the last version created as it makes new ones according to Epic Games, also bringing support of the industry favorite Unreal Engine 3.
What this means is that games will support ‘full’ 3D, and it’s going to become a lot easier to port games from consoles, programs, and smartphones to your browser and vise-versa.
Flash gaming’s about to get a lot more hardcore, people…
Anyway, check out the source link for some pretty pictures of Unreal Tournament 3 running in a browser.
E3 is only a couple weeks away, but Microsoft is already rolling out a Gears of War 3 trailer. As with the last two Gears of War titles, the third entry features manly men doing manly things, like shooting things with guns and chainsawing things with chainsaws. This time around there is even a manly woman doing manly things.
Aside from Forza 4, this is the only title Microsoft has announced in their pipeline for 2011. We’re bound to see both more of Gears of War 3 and new titles on June 6th, when Microsoft holds their E3 press conference.

Wonder how your participation in the Gears of War 3 beta will effect the title? Epic Games goes over exactly what information they collect, including weapon damage, where players are dying most, how they’re dying and more.
You also get to hear some talks about exactly what kind of feel they were shooting for with Gears of War 3, and how it’s improved over the past two titles. And don’t forget about the talks about polish. Lots and lots of polish, which is no surprise since the title was scheduled to be done by this month but was delayed for marketing reasons.
The beta starts April 25th for those who pre-order Gears of War 3 at GameStop in North America. Europeans can get access via pre-order at GAME or Gamestation. Those who purchased Bullet Storm will have access starting April 18th.

Looking at Microsoft’s line-up for the year so far is a bit disappointing. We have Gears of War 3 later this year and that’s about it. The series has remained an exclusive on Microsoft’s platform since the original entry, but it sounds like Epic Games is starting to have a bit of change of heart.
Epic Game’s President Mike Capps spoke to Industry Gamer about the possibility of a PS3 release. He answered: “Do we wish we could take all those Killzone and Resistance fans on PS3, and get them to say ‘Gears is awesome’? Yeah, sure, I’d love to ship the Gears trilogy on PlayStation. That would be fun. I want to be there; I want to be everywhere.”
Capps went on to mention that the Gears of War franchise is entirely owned by Epic, so they could take it to whatever platform they please. So why not release it on PS3? “Time and time again, when it came down to figure out what we do next with Gears, we sat down with Microsoft and they’ve given us really good, compelling reasons to work with them again.”
It would be interesting to see such a huge Xbox exclusive make the jump to PS3. Although it wouldn’t be the first time.
Epic Games has a couple of titles under their belt at the moment. Gears of War 3, which was pushed back mainly for business reasons, and Bullet Storm, which another developer is handling the development on. So what do you do with this free time? Make another game!
Epic’s Lead Designer Cliff Bleszinski teased that a new title will be unveiled at GDC 2011 this upcoming February! Not much was revealed other than the fact that it will be a new IP. So, no returning franchises here.
Based off the developer’s history, we can probably expect something with guns. But that’s 100% okay, since I’m guessing Epic’s fans likes guns and blowing stuff up too. Maybe a chainsaw here or there too.
Gears of War 3 was originally set to be released on April 5th 2011, now Microsoft has ‘shifted the date a bit’ … to the fall of 2011..
Apparently the delay has nothing to do with the game development and all to do with its marketing. The Microsoft statement says, “Gears of War 3 promises to be the biggest entertainment launch of 2011. The teams at Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games have done great workthus far readying the title for release in the Sring of 2011. However, we’ve elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall of 2011 to make it a marquee title for the holiday season.”
But why would they decide now to push it back 5 months? A possibility is that if the delay is purely for marketing reasons then maybe they just want to leave a bit more breathing room for Epic’s other big release, Bulletstorm in February 2011. But anywho, Gears of War fans will just have to wait a wee bit longer.. 5 months longer..
If you haven’t heard yet, BulletStorm is a fast paced point based shooter from Epic Games and People Can Fly that is heading to the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.
The first trailer was released today which you can find after the jump. PlayStation Blog had quite an informative interview with Epic Game’s Cliffy B.
You can check out both the interview and trailer after the jump.

While Gears of War has had co-op since the start, the series will be doubling the amount of players who can participate.
According to Cliffy B, Gears of War 3 will support up to four players in the main campaign. Each character will also be a part of the story, so no worries about just being dragged along for the ride.
I’m going to take a shot that this feature may be online only, but I could be wrong. But honestly, how many retail releases on 360 and PS3 support four player split screen nowadays?
While the title was accidently announced, Gears of War 3 has now been officially announced by Epic Games themselves.
On the Jimmy Fallon show, Epic Games showed off their first trailer for Gears of War 3 which you can check out after the jump.
The trailer doesn’t show off much other then the addition of a female soldier and a new enemy type. But, there have been some rumored details which included possible underwater combat, mechs, and new explosives to play with.
Gears of War 3 is still a year away, but Microsoft has set a solid date of April 5th 2011 for North America and April 8th 2011 in Europe. And as with the other titles, Gears of War 3 is a Xbox 360 exclusive.

Remember that Epic Games announcement that got delayed? Apparently no one told who ever updates the Xbox 360 dashboard. Upon logging in, 360 gamers were welcomed to a lovely Gears of War 3 announcement ad.
The announcement didn’t reveal much, only placing a April 2011 date on the title.
While there have been no official details on the game itself, EDGE has supposedly gotten some inside details from an unnamed source. According to the rumors, a new enemy locust will be appearing that has tentacles that can attack players through cover.
But the enemies aren’t the only one with new tricks up their sleeves. Players will supposbly be able to pilot heavy duty mechs at certain points in the game. Players will also have a new type of explosive to play with that can travel underground.
While both of these are simply additions to the Gears of War combat we already know and love, a new element is supposedly being added to switch things up a bit. Players will supposedly be challenged with underwater combat at some point during the title.
Again these are rumors. The only official thing we know about Gears of War 3 is that it is coming during April of 2011.
