In a recent interview from Siliconera with the head of Marvelous Entertainment they mentioned that the Parallax heavy game Muramasa : The Demon Blade might benefit from the 3D effect. Tomio Kanazawa responded favorably saying “That’s a pretty good idea! That is one of the many things we think our fans want, and we want to provide to them,”.
Marvelous has been confirmed to be working on several 3DS projects. One of which is a new Harvest Moon game and the other is Animal Resort.
There is also rumor going around that Muramasa may be ported to HD consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360 as a downloadable product.
Inside sources have told 1UP that Vanilliaware’s cult hit titles, Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Odin Sphere, are heading to at least one HD platform via downloadable services.
Sources report that the ports would support HD, which would probably look fantastic considering Vanillaware’s fabulous hand drawn 2D style.
As of right now, this seems to be just a rumor with little to no evidence behind it other than 1up and their source’s word. So for now, we will just have to sit tight and see if it is announced at a later date.

Australians will be able to grab a copy of the Wii exclusive hack and slash Muramasa: The Demon Blade on December 3rd.
