Pokemon Black and White to Feature DSi Enhancements; “New” Footage

Nintendo almost always releases two versions of Pokemon simultaneously. Aside from a handful of minor differences, the games are almost identical. Pokemon Black and White will be no different, but it sounds like something special might be in store.

The Japanese Pokemon website listed the typical different pokemon and encounter rate style changes, but also said “There is another big version difference as well, which we will reveal later!” What could that difference be? Only Nintendo and Gamefreak knows.

The box arts were also revealed, which you can check out after the jump. While the boxs are quite fancy in themselves, they did suggest that the game will have DSi specific features. The product number included “TWL” which indicates a DSi enhanced title. Normal DS games have “NTR” instead.  So it sounds like DSi owners might get a little extra treat in the title.

Also, after the jump, you can find some “new” Pokemon Black and White footage, but its pretty much everything we have seen before. Walking left, Pokemon one-shoting each other, etc.

BlazBlue Battle X Battle Heading to North America as BlayzeBloo

The DSiWare arena fighter, BlazBlue Battle X Battle is coming to North America under the name BlayzeBloo: Super Melee Brawlers.

The game, while still a fighter, is drastically different from the complex 2D fighter known by fans. Chibi style BlazBlue characters battle it out in an arena with simple controls and includes a handful of modes including capture the flag, last man standing, and a noodle collecting mode.

No set release window was given, but you can probably expect it sometime in the near future.

No DSiWare Transfers Between DSi and DSiXL

DSiWare doesn’t exactly have the same quality and quantity as other downloadable services right now, but there are still a good handful of worthwhile titles. If you have a DSi, there is a good chance you may have a handful of DSiWare titles already. But if you want to upgrade to a DSiXL, you may have to leave those purchases behind.

A Nintendo representative was asked about the transfer of DSiWare titles from the original DSi to the DSi XL. “We’re looking into that specific topic, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time.

Pretty lame. Hopefully the whole thing works out, especially when we get to the Nintendo 3DS where a large amount of people will be upgrading their systems.

DSi XL announcement, pictures, comparisons and information round up

While we had a post before on the new enlarged DSi, we didn’t have anything following it up (fault on my part from busy last few days). Since then Nintendo has officially announced the new Nintendo DS. This new Nintendo DS is called DSi LL in Japan and DSi XL in North America and Europe. The new DSi was created in order to address the issue of people having a difficult time  reading font and is targeted to those who use their Nintendo DSi for the internet or for a music player.

Nintendo DSi XL will be coming out Q1 2010 in North America and Europe. DSi XL will retail for more then the current DSi price. Japan will be getting it November 21st of this year. You can check out all the details, pictures and comparisons of the systems after the jump.
