Spiderman: Edge of Time is the sequel to last year’s Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions. It’s focusing on only 2 Spiderman this time by having the plot be about altering the time stream. The Amazing Spiderman and Spiderman 2099 are co-existing in the same universe so when The Amazing Spiderman does certain things he can affect the world of 2099. They are using a Picture in Picture system so that you can see what effect you are having in the future as it happens. The interesting thing about this gameplay is that rather than it being a plot based mechanic it seems to have an effect on what you will be fighting depending on which person you choose to control.
Beenox, developer of Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions is set to deliver the next game in the Spiderman franchise. A panel for Activision/Spiderman has been reserved on Saturday, April 2nd at WonderCon in San Francisco. The listing for the panel gave details on a presentation involving post launch reactions to Shattered Dimensions as well as pictures showcasing the next Spiderman game. The panel will feature several important people in the Spiderman bis, including Spiderman 2099 co-creator Peter David, as well as the voiceover artist Josh Keaton, and several developers from Beenox.
Beenox, a company owned by Activision, and also the studio behind Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions has been put in charge of developing the newest game in the Spiderman franchise.
This company also worked on a number of other games such as Guitar Hero: Smash Hits and Quantum of Solace.
It should be noted that Beenox had said that they wanted to make a game based around the character Noir, who was featured in Shattered Dimensions. However, they have not released any game concepts or a release date at this time.
