Those looking to get celebratory consoles for the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. should prepare their wallets. Nintendo has announced that they will be bringing the 25th anniversary Wii and DSi XL to Europe. Both platforms are being released in a red color and both come with bundled software.
The red Wii ships with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, along with the usual Wii Sports pack in. That’s not all though. The Wii also ships with the all new Wii Remote Plus and comes with a copy of the original Donkey Kong pre-installed. The bundle will be available October 29th.
The DSi XL bundle, while still fancy and red, doesn’t exactly have a stellar bundle. It comes with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. and features little Mario power-up designs on the front. You can pick it up October 22nd.
If all new hardware isn’t how you want to celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary, you can also pick up Super Mario All-Stars on December 3rd. You can check out the bundles after the jump.

Also to celebrate the occasion of Super Mario Bros. turning 25 this month Nintendo is releasing a new Wii supporting Mario red colours in Japan on November 11th. What’s more it won’t just include a Wii remote but one of the new Wii Remote Plus peripherals with built in motion plus.
Since it’s in aid of Mario’s 25th Anniversary the bundle also includes a copy of Super Mario Bros. pre-installed on the system. Again, not just any copy but this version even has the games trademark gold coin bricks to say ’25’ on the front.
In saying all this, do not expect this bundle to appear in the West anytime soon, and if it does it definately won’t be as fancy as this. Even so, it is quite beautiful (:

Nintendo has revealed that the re-release of Super Mario All-Stars (thought only to be for Japan) will also be released in Europe!
The company’s Swedish website has posted an update (now backed up by a press release) about the collection with a release date set for December 3rd.
The box set will include a soundtrack CD, a retrospective DVD and a history booklet as well as the remake of Super Mario All-Stars – containing Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 + 3 and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. The boxart for the collection is written in English which increases the odds of the box set being released in North America and Australia also.
