We’ve been following it for awhile, but here is solid proof of an Arcade Edition of Super Street Fighter IV being on the way. Consoletech has an exclusive trailer leaked to them from an anonymousness source, revealing Arcade Edition to be downloadable content for Super Street Fighter IV.
According to the trailer, this update will add quite a bit of new content. Most importantly, four new characters, Oni, Evil Ryu, Yun and Yang will all be jumping into the brawl. All character balancing made to the arcade release will also be present in the console release. You can switch between playing SSFIV players and Arcade Edition players.
New features include a revamped replay mode where you can post your replays and share them online. People can, what looks like, subscribe to your video account, seeing replays as you save them. They will also be adding an Elite Channel, with replays of players with 3000+ PP.
Ready for a fourth version of Super Street Fighter IV? Right after the 3D versions launch, we might be getting another! We heard about the possibility through the Korean rating system a few weeks back. Now the European BBFC, is supporting this with listings for an Arcade Edition. This listing also brings us a possible June 24th release date for the title as well.
Capcom has a Captivate event in April, so you might want to be on the look out for it there. Being only a month before the launch, this seems like it would be the only event to announce this title at. The arcade version has two new characters, Yun and Yang. A new character, Evil Ryu, is set to head to the arcade version as well. I’d imagine all three would be included in an Arcade Edition.
Capcom is going to be selling some DLC costume changes for Super Street Fighter IV.
The sets are listed below and are going to be priced at 4 dollars each. They will also be selling a pack of all the costumes together later for 18 dollars.

Super Street Fighter IV expanded the roster of Street Fighter IV by ten new characters, quite an impressive addition. But it looks like two more might still be on the way.
The arcade release of Super Street Fighter IV is nearing, and Capcom has been doing some location tests. While the new fighters have yet to appear, the character selection screen reveals two new blank spots in which they would probably find homes in.
To support this, a flyer was released for the arcade version that says “HERE COMES NEW CHALLENGERS!?” and across the text, in Japanese, it says “The Appearance of New Challengers!” Of course this could just be referring to the ten new characters already added.
So far, it seems like Capcom has prevented any leaks of who the characters actually are. And if there are new characters, the question is if the console version will get them as well. With the ability to do downloadable content, I would be surprised if the characters didn’t show up on the home versions.
Hopefully we get some more solid details soon. You can check out the screenshot of the character selection screen with the two blank slots after the jump.

Super Street Fighter IV launches late this month, but those planning to purchase the title have something to look forward to next month.
On June 15th, Super Street Fighter IV owners will be able to download a new “Tournament Mode” absolutely free. This mode allows for 4 or 8 players to compete in tournament brackets. Players will fight each other 1 on 1 to eventually try to become the champion of their tournament.
While your battle is not in progress, you will be able to spectate the current match and talk with the other competitors.
Capcom plans on holding special tournaments from time to time so players can get exclusive titles. Those who win these titles will have to defend it or else another will come to claim it.
Again, Tournament Mode is an absolutely free download, so everyone can enjoy it.
You can check out screen shots from the tournament mode and a new Super Street Fighter IV trailer after the jump.

Super Street Fighter IV has a pretty hefty character roster already, but we can add one more to that. Capcom has announced that a new character named Hakan will be joining the fray.
Hakan is a Turkish fighter who relies on oiling up his body to slip himself and his enemies around the stage. He can also slide other fighters across his body as well.
You can check out the trailer, gameplay, and some screen shots after the jump.

Super Street Fighter IV’s new trio of characters was announced earlier this week in Famitsu magazine, but now you can check them out in action.
The first half of the trailer is pretty much all Dudley, Makoto and Ibuki, but there is a nice little wrap up of all the other new characters already announced for Super Street Fighter IV as well.

Super Street Fighter IV was already adding quite a bit of content, but Capcom isn’t satisfied yet. Three new characters have been announced via this weeks Famitsu Magazine and Street Fighter III fans will be very happy.
Dudley, Ibuki, and Makoto from Street Fighter III will be added to the character roster. So, Super Street Fighter IV will have the original cast from Street Fighter IV, T.Hawk, DeeJay, Juri, Adon, Cody, Guy, and now Dudley, Ibuki, and Makoto. That is quite a hefty list of new characters.
We will have to wait and see if Capcom surprises us with more before Super Street Fighter IV’s official release on April 27th in North America and April 30th in Europe.
Be sure to check out the lovely, and blurry, Famitsu scans after the jump.

When thinking of ways to control fighting games you usually think of arcade sticks, D-pads, or in some cases the analog stick, but would you consider playing a fighter using a touch screen? Capcom thinks so as they will be bringing Street Fighter IV to iPhone.
Come March you will be able to duke it out in Street Fighter IV anywhere you go with your iPhone. Using the touchpad as buttons and a joystick, players will be able to pull off all of their favorite combos from the console version at any time of the day. But if the default control’s don’t suit your fancy, then you will be able to choose from some other alternative control styles.
Capcom is determined to make the game look good though despite the major differences in hardware. The game uses graphics pulled straight from the code from the console versions and have been scaled down for the platform.
As of right now, Capcom only would confirm Ryu, Ken, and Dan ( who was confirmed via Capcom’s official twitter for the character), but promises that the title will have a large roster including classic Street Fighter characters and the new comers from Street Fighter IV.
On the go fighting with the computer might be a fun time killer, but the real meat of a fighting game is the ablity to play against other players. You can do just that using the iPhone’s blue tooth to battle out against other human opponents.
You can expect to see Street Fighter IV on the app store some time next month. In the mean time be sure to check out some screen shots over at IGN.
