Rumor: Activision Eyeing Take-Two

With Activision cutting True Crime and Guitar Hero from their line-up, it doesn’t really look like they have anything planned outside of Call of Duty. Of course, they could make their own new games… Or they can buy another company that already has huge franchises and AAA titles in the pipeline.

According to MCV, an unnamed senior executive claims that rumors are spreading through the senior level of the global business about Activision looking into purchasing the house of Grand Theft Auto and Bioshock.

While the senior executive says, “they are just rumours,” he does say that they are “very strong.

EA attempted to buy out take-two a couple of years back. That deal never went through. It wouldn’t be the first time Activision has picked up a major player in the industry. You can probably guess who that is by their full company name, Activision Blizzard.

Pay $99 for Duke Nukem’s Balls of Steel… Edition

Duke Nukem Forever. You know, it has been in development since 1997. That’s before Ocarina of Time even hit! If finally getting your hands on the title in May won’t be enough to make your purchase memorable, you’ll want to get the Balls of Steel edition.

While you’ll have to dish out an extra $40 for this set, there is a lot of swag for Duke Nukem fans. First, and mostly important, you get a copy of Duke Nukem Forever. Second, a 100-page hardcover book called History, Legacy & Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault. Third, five post cards! Fourth, a sticker of the Duke Nukem Forever logo. Fifth, a fold out paper craft. Sixth, poker chips. Seventh, a mini-card deck. Eigth, dice with the Duke Nukem logo on them. Nineth, a collectible comic book. Tenth, a certificate of authenticity. And finally, the icing that crushes the cake, a bust of Duke Nukem. Yeah, a bust.

That’s eleven items for your $99. Twelve if you include the box! Probably one of the better collector’s edition I’ve seen in awhile. And after fourteen years, Duke Nukem Forever deserves some special treatment.

You can check out the bundle after the jump!

Red Dead Redemption pushed back till May

As mentioned in yesterday’s Vlog, Take-Two confirmed that Red Dead Redemption won’t be making its April release and is being pushed back till May 18th.

Take Two said that the title was delayed to launch during a more suitable time peroid, but Rockstar Games  explained that the delay is due to needing to polish the game up a bit more before launch.

Hopefully that extra time put into the title will be worth the wait.

Max Payne 3 pushed back into the second half of 2010

Take Two announced that Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3 won’t arrive till at least August 2010. The title was originally planned to be in the early 2010 rush, whether it be for development reasons or to avoid the rush is unknown.

In the mean time though, Take Two is still releasing a few quality titles between now and mid 2010 including BioShock 2 and Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption "My name is John Marston" trailer

As promised Take Two delivered their second Red Dead Redemption trailer. The trailer also reminds us that the game will be on store shelves April 27th for both the X-box 360 and PlayStation 3.

I’ve never played Red Dead Revolver, but this trailer kind of makes me want to go back and check it out. It has been awhile since I’ve played GUN, so maybe it’s about time I grab another game in a Wild West setting.
