Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is finally out and on store shelves in North America and Producer Ryota Niitsuma is already thinking about the next step for the series.
“There are a whole lot of properties that I would like to work with, a whole lot of game developers I’d like to work with in America. I’d love to do something with Nintendo maybe, or Square Enix, maybe do something with them. That would be pretty cool.”
That would be pretty cool indeed since Nintendo and Square-Enix probably have some of the biggest fan bases along with a huge cast of characters they could offer to the Vs. series.

Capcom has been in the fighting genre buisness for a long time. Over that time they have done 2D,3D, and 2.5D fighters, but Capcom currently sees a bright future in one specifically, the 2.5D fighter.
“Right now, you see that we’re trying to move away from straight-up traditional 2D fighting into what I guess you’d call ‘2.5D,’ where you take the 3D fighter models and marry them to a 2D fighting plane. For now, that’s the way we’re going to go,” said Tatsunoko vs. Capcom’s producer Ryoto Niitsuma.
Niitsuma said that Capcom intends on trying new things in the 2.5D fighting field though. One of the examples he uses is being able to incorporate camera movement in the 2.5D style. “It’s still a 2D fighting field, but the camera moves in a 3D space. That’s just one possibility of something we’d like to be able to do.”
As of right now Capcom’s two big upcoming 2.5D style fighters are Super Street Fighter IV and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, the latter of which is hitting later this month.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars is one of the Wii’s first big exclusive this year, and while Capcom has no plans on bringing over the title to PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 right now the publisher says it is still possible for the future.
Producer of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars, Ryota Niitsuma said “If enough fans say, ‘We want this on PS3 and 360,’ we might do that.” Niitsuma also said that because of how the game was built, a simple port wouldn’t be possible. Instead they would have to build the entire game from scratch.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars will be launching January 26th in North America, January 29th in Europe and February 4th in Australia.
The Yatterman-2 gameplay videos and screenshots speak for themselves and you can see them after the jump. But also worth noting is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has an official fight stick which you can purchase stand alone for $79.95 or you can buy it bundled with the game for $124.95.
The deal essentially only saves you $5, but hey you get a cool box…kind of…not really. Well you can spend that $5 on a NES game on the Virtual Console.
Update: Post is no longer a train wreck of errors.

While the character roster for Tatsunoko vs Capcom was supposedly completely revealed it might look like a couple more characters might squeeze in before release.
A Capcom representative at a event for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom commented on the build of the game they were playing, saying “There’s all the new characters and there’s some secret characters we haven’t revealed yet.” Seth Killian was later asked about the comment and he said “That’s still a secret and you won’t be finding out until a few weeks”
The quotes comes from a forum user on Capcom’s Unity blog that was covering the event, so this has just been marked as a rumor for now. You can check out his post here.
Update: Yatterman-2 announced (I thought she was already actually, but I guess i was wrong), you can check it out over at Gamespot (footage at 8:50 mark).Still the rumor says “Characters” with an S, so i wouldn’t consider more characters out of the question yet.
Two more characters have been confirmed that we knew about from the list leaked by Capcom about a month ago. Joe the Condor from G-Force and Zero from the Mega Man series. IGN, who revealed the information, said these are the final two characters being added. This makes the complete list of new characters at four including Frank West, Tekkaman Blade, Zero, and Joe the Condor. Also worth noting is that “Yatterman #2” was leaked earlier as well, but apparently didn’t make the final cut for one reason or another.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars will be arriving in North America January 26th, in Japan January 28th, and in Europe on January 29th.
You can find Joe the Condor’s gameplay footage after the jump.

It has been a long journey for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom to make its way outside of Japan, but the wait is almost over. Capcom confirmed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-stars will be hitting North America January 26th, Japan January 28th, and last but not least Europe will be receiving the game January 29th.
Also some screen shots that mainly focus on the recently announced character Frank West after the jump.

Tekkaman Blade was announced earlier today along with the news of the updated North American and European version heading to Japan as well. Apparently some one looked into the code of the Japanese websites and found character names, some just happened to be the new characters Capcom was teasing. Mega Man Zero from the Mega Man series, Frank West the man who has covered wars, Yatterman #2 the female counter part of Yatterman and Joe Asakura from G-Force were listed and then quickly removed by Capcom.
While Famitsu said Hakushon Daimao, the large genie fighter, would appear in the game in Japan, Capcom corrected this saying that he will also be removed from the Japanese roster. This is probably due to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom’s online mode being word wide. Meaning the only way you can play that character is through the original Japanese release.

It has been a long wait for North Americans and Europeans for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, thankfully Capcom is making it worth our wait with new characters and online play. Siliconera found in the latest issue of Famitsu Magazine Capcom confirmed that Tekkaman Blade will be one of the new characters on the Tatsunoko side. More characters are set to be revealed at this upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
Famitsu’s article also confirms that the game will be rereleased in Japan with the updates that are in the North American and European versions of the game. There was no mention made if Hakushon Daimao, who is missing in North America and Europe due to licensing issues, will appear in the updated Japanese version.
