TSG’s Week Ahead (10/23)

It’s time once again to give you guys the low down on what we’ve accomplished this past week and what to look forward to in the week ahead.

Podcast 26 was finally released. We talked about several subjects that revolved around the WiiU. We plan on recording ep 27 sometime in the next 2 weeks.

-I’m about 40% done with the 2013 marathon’s promo. I plan on posting it sometime in early November.

-The November 12-hour stream to thank our community for demolishing our October goal will be on Sunday November 25th from noon until midnight (central). We have been setting an $80 goal each month to offset website fees as well as shipping fees. It has gone spectacularly. Thank you guys so much for your support! Typically the stream will be at the beginning of the month but because of other commitments I have early on in the month I think the last weekend would work better.

-The marketing team will be hosting a community event starting in just over a week called “Luigi Appreciation Month”. Details will be posted in the forums soon. Sign up to the forums and participate to win some sweet prizes.

-The Pumpkin carving contest only has about a week left so be sure to get your submissions in!

-Giraffes continues on with his playthrough of Dark Souls for Darktoberfest.  He will be streaming Tu (tonight),Wed and Thurs starting at 7:30pm each evening.

-It seems we have a scuffle going on in the forums for the battle of admin supremacy. KmmGreen vs  JdTwins

Minecraft 1.6 Trailer!

Great news everyone, fresh off the press from Mojang and on Notch’s twitter feed – we get our first trailer for 1.6 which only reveals one thing, but boy is it a big one.

Maps have been available as a modded HUD in the past, but having one craftable ingame is a big boon to the purists and those ((Myself included)) too lazy to mod the game beyond skins and looks. It’s quite a humourous way to promote it, with the recipe included straight off the bat. While any other features have been kept under wraps, Notch himself said that the fix list is over a hundred, making this possibly one of the biggest updates to the Lego homage yet.

So, ladies and gentlemen – excited? Are your blaise about the update? Or are you one of those not a fan of Minecraft?

Sony is ON TO YOU!

Well, hopefully not YOU specificially, but they’re on to the hackers that have cracked the PS3 through a faulty firmware update.  THANKFULLY, however, Sony is aware of the problem and has thought of the most fantastic way to fix the problem!  More firmware of course!

We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it…  We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details.” says a Sony representative.

I just wish the updates didn’t take the same amount of time as it takes to make a fine French Dinner on a barbecue  bit in the middle of Montana during a Tornado Hail storm.

Pokemon Black/White : North American Updates

If you’re not keen on staying fairly updated with the recent Pokemon Black/White news, then here’s a nice little update to keep you company.

  • The starter Pokemon names are : Tepig [Fire]. Snivy [Grass]. Oshawott [Water]
  • The new region has been named Unova.  [Although why Isshu was such a big “issue” is kind of strange for me..]
  • Rehiram and Zekrom will be making debuts in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade tomorrow morning!  Stick around to see the GIGANTIC renditions of the newest legendary duos.
  • The North American website has been launched.  Check back for more details as the launch date in Spring 2011 comes nearer.
  • Check out Serebii for all the up to date [and confirmed/spoiler tagged] details about the game!

Even though I already have most of the goodies from playing the Japanese version of the game, I still am GIDDY over seeing how everything pans out in America.  Especially in terms of dialog and clear character/faction details.

PlayStation 3 Blu-Ray 3D Update Coming in October

Sony recently announced at their IFA press conference that the 3D Blu Ray Upate for the PlayStation 3 will NOT arrive this month, but instead next month, in October (They even told us October is about 30 Days away). This means you’ll just have to wait just a bit longer to watch some of your favorite movies. Then again, there aren’t too many 3D Blu Ray Movies available at the moment, so this added wait time may be for the best.

Pokémon Black Version & Pokémon White Version Monthly Update: August 2010

Here at TSG, Pokémon is one of the most talked about gaming franchises, from the Wi-Fi Battle League to the countless discussion forums. Back in July, I wrote an article for the Pokémon community describing all of the new details we learned about the upcoming Pokémon Black & White Versions that month. Since then, we’ve learned a lot of new information, so I figured it was time to write a new one. Special thanks to the1stpkmnfan, who *sort of* requested this, even though I was planning on doing it anyway. You can check out the August Update for Pokémon Black & White Versions after the jump. Sit back, relax, grab a drink, and enjoy.
