Miyamoto shares a few small details about Zelda Wii’s controls

It’s a no brainer that Wii Motion + controls sound perfect for sword combat in a Zelda title, but it looks the sword won’t be the only weapon to see a change with Wii Motion + functionality.

Miyamoto touched a little bit on Zelda Wii saying About MotionPlus. We’re implementing it so that players can feel like they themselves are holding the sword. In the previous Zelda (TP Wii) the targeting was based on the IR pointer. This time however, we’ll be using MotionPlus for a variety of more convenient targeting systems that will allow for more pleasant gameplay.”

The only example I could think of for this is if for the bow they could use a similar control system to the archery mini game in Wii Sports Resort. I’m not sure how you would replace the hook shot, boomerang, or other ranged weapons that used IR targeting, but with Eiji Anouma and Miyamoto on the job I’m sure everything will turn out just fine.
