New ‘Heroes of Might & Magic’ Game

Although it’s been a four years since the last Might & Magic game, Ubisoft has officially (and finally) revealed a sixth game in the series at Gamescom yesterday, except this time its called ‘Might & Magic: Heroes VI’. Dramatic eh?

Despite a slight name change and being under a new developer (Black Hole Entertainment), the game itself happily sticks to its turn-based and real-time strategy.

The story takes places four centuries prior to Heroes V and follows a resurrected archangel set upon getting revenge on the Elder races. The only thing is he’s underestimated the human dynasty of the Griffin Dukes – you.

The game is set to be released for the PC sometime in 2011 and until then you can find new videos, screenshots and concept art at the Black Hole website.

‘Teaser’ trailer (hopefully) after the jump.

  1. Hrmm… Interesting.

Still, I’m boycotting any and all UbiSoft games until they confirm that their DRM is not part of that game, so I guess I’ll not be getting this one.

Plus, if they keep the same standard of voice acting as they had in HoMM V, that alone will make your ears bleed. Trust me on this one 😛

  2. Well, other than the fact that there hasn’t been a correlation between the Heroes series and the M&M series since what, M&M6? 7? Heroes 3? When was the last time a Might and Magic game had characters that were also the Heroes in the HoMM series, anyway?

Anyway, if they don’t go braindead and do another HoMM like Heroes 4, HoMM6 might show promise… Might.
