An Adventure Title between Kojima and Suda51 isn’t exactly something that has come out of the blue. After the release of No More Heroes and Metal Gear Solid 4, Rumours of “Project S” started to circle after Suda, Kojima and Mikami were interviewed and Kojima brought up Project S which was supposed to be a sequel to Snatcher that he would collaborate on with Suda51. In the end, this turned out to be a radio drama although there were even more rumours of something else being in the works. Now it turns out that they ARE working on an adventure game after all along with the CEO of 5pb: Chiyomaru Shikura (They ported a lot of CAVE games such as Ketsui and Ibara as well as creating the visual novels Chaos Head and Stein’s Gate). See more after the jump.
The project was first confirmed in May when Shikura tweeted about the adventure game with Sudajima (The duo’s new port-manteau) during a lunch meet. The game will be the third game in 5pb’s ‘science’ series and it is literally 1% complete. The game entitiled ‘Robotic Notes’ will be themed around Robots and will rcieve development from the Japanese Space Agency (I guess I wasn’t the only person in the world who played Policenauts after all). Progress on the game is expectedly slow since Kojima is working of Metal Gear Rising and the port of MGS3 for the 3DS and Suda 51 is working on Shadows of the Damned, Sine Mora and Codename D (What the hell happened to Kurayami? That game looked awesome). Despite this, Shikura promises a 2011 release.
