On Local’s Mind: “Pokemon Marathons and Stuff”

The marathon is coming up real soon, and we’ve heard some interesting ideas from the community as to stuff we could do during the marathon. We’ve also heard back from quite a few sites in our marketing effort that will be supporting us. There may be a huge event in our future, that involves panels and cosplay…but not in the way you might think.

DS Capture Device

Yep, we are going to try our best to have one ready for the Pokemon Marathon. We’re in contact with Loopy over at SDA, but he’s currently out of supplies to make the device. We’ve had our eye on this for awhile, but we’ve never really had the funds to get one. Now that I have a job, though, I can use some of my funds to help TSG. This capture device will help us out tremendously in the longrun; think about the marathon possibilities.

Q: What DS-centric marathon would you like to see in the future?

TSG Presents! Improvements

I’ve been thinking about ways to improve things for TSG Presents! and one of the few things that came up was adding an “On Now” and “Coming Up” slider thing where the current show title is. It’s a little hard to explain but you’ll have to trust me. The obstacle I need to figure out is a way to parse the calendar information so I can compare the current time and future show times. It can probably be done with a while loop, but the logic…

Great Job Marketing Team

I’m not going to release who is supporting us yet, because we still have details to work out. I will say that we have the majority of the big name Pokemon sites set to either promoe us or embed us already. This is thanks to the tireless efforts of our great team. Every single one of them has done more than we ever expected. Thank you.

Road Trip

You may or may not know that I will be attending the Pokemon marathon. My first time attending was the Final Fantasy marathon way back when. I had 3 friends with me at the time and we split the cost of the trip equally, but unfortunately we also had to leave earlier than I would have liked because a few of them could only get work off for a few days. Since then I have flown for every summer event. I hate flying; it doesn’t agree with me. So I scoured our staff and volunteers to see if anyone close to me would be able and willing to take the trip with me. It took a while, but I eventually found someone. So, JasefWisener will be accompanying me to Texas. Thanks, buddy. 😀

TSG Guilds

We have some successful guilds going now on different games, mainly World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic, and we have a dead guild in Lord of the Rings Online (I want to play that again). We’re looking for other games that a TSG guild would fit in. Maybe the upcoming Guild Wars 2 or a free-to-play on Steam? Let us know what you guys play, and what you think would fit best.

I’m going to leave you guys with a classic that ALWAYS makes me laugh.

  1. Seems like we’ve got some stuff to look forward to in the future, Local! Hope you and Jasef have a good time at the Pokemon Marathon 😀
Btw, that was a pretty sweet video at the bottom, not even gonna lie…

  2. I love the idea of you guys being able to use a DS capture device; I would gladly donate just to help you get it!

Also, TSG does need to get into LOTRO again! I created an account just so I could play with you guys during TSG Presents, but that was exactly when Britt, Ruju, and the others stopped playing/streaming it. I thought we also had a Realm of the Mad God guild; guess not. I think there should also be a Team Fortress 2 guild; I haven’t played it in a long time, but there are quite a few people (especially DwarfInASuit) who are pretty passionate about it.

  3. Hmmm…future DS marathons?

We could do a Phoenix Wright/Ghost Trick/9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors marathon (those sorts of visual novel-type games). Could be a Dragon Quest marathon of sorts. There could be an Advance Wars marathon. Could have a Mario and Luigi/Mario Vs Donkey Kong marathon.

    Many possibilities.

Gainfully employed single guy with low cost of living here. I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what you’re doing.
