Hey guys, Jasef here!
Over the past week, TheSpeedGamers was privileged enough to send three people to the St. Jude PLAY LIVE Summit at the St. Jude Campus in Memphis, Tennessee. Phil, Minikitty, and I got to spend three days learning more about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and seeing the amazing things that they do for extremely deserving kids and families up-close, and we came back with more of a resolve than ever to do everything that we can for this incredible organization.
St. Jude PLAY LIVE season kicked off on Friday, and it runs through May 31. As most of you know, our upcoming Pokemon Marathon for St. Jude begins on Friday, June 8, so we’ve decided to kick off the campaign early in order to participate with PLAY LIVE!
Head over to https://tiltify.com/+tsg/thespeedgamers to check out the campaign (the exact same one for the marathon), and you’ll be able to see our goal of $50,000, check out some milestones along the way (with more to come), and donate for some incentives! Right now, we are offering up the nicknames for the starter Pokemon evolution lines, the names and genders for the player characters in the games that will be played in the marathon, and the rival names for any game that allows that. Pokemon line nicknames are $50 each, and names for either a player character or a rival are $75 each. All donations, as always, will go DIRECTLY to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and these donations will also be added to our total for our Pokemon Marathon from June 8-15.
For more information on PLAY LIVE, visit https://stjude.tiltify.com/playlive. Remember, just as during marathons, it’s completely fine if you are unable to donate! One of the best ways to help us raise as much as possible is by spreading the word, so be sure to promote our campaign and upcoming marathon! We’ll be doing some contests on social media between now and the beginning of the marathon, so be sure to follow us on Twitter to see everything that happens!
We can’t thank you guys enough for all of the support over the past ten years, and we can’t wait to see you again on Friday, June 8 at 5pm CT for the start of our Pokemon Marathon for St. Jude! Tune in at http://twitch.tv/thespeedgamers!

If we reach $8,000 by 6pm CT on Monday, December 18, the marathon will be extended by a full 24 hours!
We just wanted to take a second and let you know that we’re thrilled to announce that our first two marathons in 2018 will be raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!
After our Mario Marathon for ACT Today from December 15-18 (with an additional 24 hours possible if we can reach $8,000 in donations by 6pm CT on Monday, December 18), get ready to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of TheSpeedGamers with our 2018 The Legend of Zelda Marathon from March 9-13! This celebration will last 96 hours instead of our usual 72 hours, and we have a ton of exciting plans that we can’t wait to reveal.
After that, the anniversary year continues with our weeklong Pokémon Marathon in the summer. This will be our first Catch ‘Em All marathon since 2014, and it will be the first time where we’ll be catching the Pokémon from all seven generations! We’ll have a lot more about this marathon in the coming months.
2018 is going to be a huge year for TSG, but 2017 still has some exciting moments in store. Be sure to tune into our Mario Marathon for ACT Today on Friday, December 15 at http://twitch.tv/TheSpeedGamers!

As Britt announced last week in his marathon wrap-up, we’ve announced that our Resident Evil Marathon in October will be raising money for Direct Relief International! Direct Relief is a fantastic organization, and we’re really looking forward to working with them again for this event.
Additionally, we’re SO EXCITED to announce that Capcom has agreed to work with us for this marathon for both prizes and promotion. Capcom has always been very good to us when we’ve needed them, and we’re thrilled to be working so closely with them again.
Our Resident Evil Marathon is shaping up to be something special, and we can’t wait for October 13 (Friday the 13th!) to get here!
Check out the reveal trailer for the marathon below, and we’ll see you soon! Follow us on Twitter @TheSpeedGamers for all of the updates on the marathon as we get them, and be sure to check out our Twitch page at http://twitch.tv/thespeedgamers to see us hosting some of our marathon attendees as they practice their games! Hey guys! We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Fangamer again to offer some great Final Fantasy-themed shirts for our marathon!
If you CLICK THIS LINK, you’ll be taken to a page on the Fangamer website with our three shirts: Cactus Run, Floral Fantasy (t-shirt), and Floral Fantasy (women’s tank). Each of these shirts cost $24, but $10 from EVERY SALE through July 20 will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during our marathon! This is a great way to donate to charity while still getting something for yourself, and we can’t thank Fangamer enough for this opportunity!
As a bonus, these shirts were designed by our very own Space Coyote, so be sure to thank her yourself on Twitter!
TSG’s Final Fantasy Marathon 2017: Pixels vs. Polygons begins THIS FRIDAY, July 14, at 6pm CT at http://twitch.tv/thespeedgamers! 100% of the donations received will go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and we’ll extend the marathon for a full 24 hours if we can reach $30,000 in donations by the end of our auction on Wednesday, July 19! We hope you tune in for our most exciting event of the year!
