Dead Rising 2: Off the Record Review

He’s covered wars, he’s covered the Willamette zombie attack, and covered why there are pictures of him in a dress, Frank West is back in a re-imagining of the events of Fortune City, with new missions, new weaponry and a new camera. Was this a good idea, or shameless cash-grabbing by Capcom?

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is Breaking Hearts and Setting Records

The week one Unit sales for Capcom’s downloadable Deadrising 2 Scenario are reportedly over 300,000. An impressive number, and also not entirely suprising considering the content of the game. It contains all the mechanics that will be present in the full game albeit with fewer items and a small location.

The game has reviewed very well and definitely proved itself as more then what many feared would be a pay demo of the game. With Capcom setting this precedent are there any other games that you would be interested in doing this as well?

Recently Announced Release Dates Round-Up

Hey, we are trying something new. For release dates, we’re going to try to wrap up them up at the end of the week. Obviously bigger ones like Zelda release dates will probably get their own posts, but its difficult to make a post for each and every release date announced, moved, delay, etc.

So after the jump, you will find a handful of release dates and windows that have been announced over the last week. Hopefully we can keep this going for the next few weeks and see how it rolls over.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero Pricing and Release Details

If you can’t wait to pick up Dead Rising 2 on September 28th, then you might want to take a look at Dead Rising 2: Case Zero which will be launching August 31st exclusively for Xbox Live Arcade.

Case Zero takes place three years before Dead Rising 2 and acts sort of like a demo for the title, but has its own plot and environments. While you will have to pay for it, you won’t have to drop much on it. Capcom is charging 400 MS points for the downloadable title, so basically $5.

It is an interesting take on demos, creating content exclusively for a that demo. And while it does cost some cash, the pricing is low enough where its still affordable to try it out and will still save you a lot of cash if you don’t like it.

You can check out the E3 trailer for Dead Rising 2: Case Zero after the jump along with some screenshots. Currently there are no plans for a PlayStation Network release.

Dead Rising 2 Goes Co-Op; New Trailer and Screen Shots

While there is a 4 player mode in Dead Rising 2, it is not part of the main campaign. Previously only known as a single player affair, Dead Rising 2’s main campaign now will offer 2 player online co-op.

While 4 player campaign co-op would have been cool, 2 players is fine by me.

Dead Rising 2 is launching August 31st in North America and September 3rd in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

You can check out some new screen shots, character renders, and a new trailer after the jump.

Capcom announces release date for Lost Planet 2 and Super Street Fighter IV

Capcom has announced release dates for two of their biggest titles for spring 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Super Street Fighter IV will be launching April 27th in North America and April 30th in Europe. The title has new characters, stages, a revamped online mode, and more.

May 18th is when you can expect Lost Planet 2 in both Europe and North America. The title features a online co-op mode similar to that of Monster Hunter where you take down huge bosses with four other players.

While not in the spring line up, Dead Rising 2 is worth a mention as well as capcom confirmed that the title will make it out some time this year.
