A TurboGrafx-16 app was just released on iPhone and is free to download. It comes with one game “Worlds Sports Competition”. You can buy other games at around 3 dollars a pop, the games included for purchase currently will be listed after the jump, most notably you can get Gradius, China Warrior, and Bomberman ’94. I hope you are ready to see some huge sprites on your phone because the time has come.
This seems odd to me since the TurboGrafx-16 did not have the largest audience in America that this is even coming here. It was fondly remembered in Japan as the PC-Engine, so that version of the app makes perfect since. The TG-16 was primarily known for it’s sprite scaling ability and while it wasn’t actually a 16 bit system it did have some huge sprites.
Capcom announced today that Ghost Trick: An adventure game in the same vein as the Phoenix Wright series will be released on the Iphone though the Japanese App store tommorow. The first two chapters of the game wil be free to download and the remaining three chapters can be bought for 600 en (£4.50) each or 1500 en (£11.40). Ghost Trick seems liek a really good fit for the Iphone due to the way that the touch screen controls have been implemented as shown in the DS version (In which a demo of the English version can be played on Nintendo’s website). An english release of this port is unconfirmed although there’s not much reason as to why they can’t release it in English as the DS version will be released January 14th in Europe.
The remake of Final Fantasy Tactics entitled: Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions was confirmed for the Iphone a while back and was set to be released September 15th 2010. This release date never came into fruition and was delayed to “TBA”. Square Enix confirmed through Facebook that the release date has now been shifted to something more definite in the region of Spring 2011. The game will be released with a new touchscreen interface to benefit the Iphone version of the same and screenshots f the game are avaliable on Squeenix’s Facebook page. This will be a port of the PSP version of the remake which can currently be bought very cheaply due to it’s release on the PSP favourites collection.

As of right now, details are slim. The teaser trailer, which you can find after the jump, doesn’t tell us much. The only hint as to what the game may be is in the press release, where it says that Mushihime-sama Bug Panic “is ready to bomb its way into your heart!”

Through a joint exclusive with Sonic Stadium and Sonic Retro, SEGA has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will be launching “Late 2010.”
The title is set to hit WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network, but SEGA also announced today tha the title will be available on iPhones and iPod Touch as well.
The title was originally scheduled for Summer 2010. But as you can see, it won’t be making that window now.
In the mean time, if you haven’t checked out some of Sonic’s earlier outings that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is based upon, you can check out the recently released Sonic’s Classic Collection on Nintendo DS with Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 and Sonic & Knuckles on a single catridge. But of course, there are tons of other ways to play the past Sonic games.
