With the 3DS coming up it can be easy to forget these swan song core titles for the Nintedno DS, like Radiant Historia and Okamiden. Be sure not to miss them!

It’s weird, usually companies tend to put little bits of information out at once. For Okamiden, Capcom decided to throw a whole bunch out at once. First and foremost, those looking to pick up the title will be able to in March of next year! North Americans will be able to pick up the title on the 15th, while Europeans will be able to pick up the title on the 18th.
While, lucky for Europe, the release dates are close. Unfortunately as of right now, only North America is getting a preorder bonus. Preorder Okamiden at GameStop and you will receive a paint brush stylus and a Okamiden themed screen cleaner. You can check out both items after the jump, along with some gameplay for the title.
If you’re not looking to not spend any money, Capcom has launched a contest along side a new Goblin Mask Facebook App. This app has participants drawing on a virtual Goblin Mask, which you then use to overlap onto a picture of yourself. Participants can win a Nintendo 3DS, a copy of Okamiden, and more. The contest is open to both North America and Europe, and the deadline is January 3rd 2011. You can submit your entry and check out the full details on the Okami Facebook page.

The how-to trailer shows a handful of new and returning brush strokes. The big difference here is that the DS stylus allows for a lot more precision, so more detailed drawings can be used for certain abilities, like drawing a flower.

It’s pretty rare for Capcom to leave a title in Japan only. Especially if they have a cult fanbase like Okami. In case you were concerned that we wouldn’t get to see the sequel to Okami outside of Japan though, Capcom recently filed a trademark for Okamiden in Europe.
As of right now Okamiden is only planned for Japan and has a general 2010 release window.
You may feel a bit of deja vu at the start, but later on it picks up with a lot of new footage. I think the art style transferred over to the DS perfectly. As long as they can keep the frame rate up, I’d say it could be one of the best looking games on DS so far.
