Nintendo of Europe's Connection Ambassador Promotion

To encourage more Wii users to take advantage of their online services, Nintendo of Europe will be launching their “Connection Ambassador Promotion”. This new plan lets currently connected Wii owners get free Wii Points by helping other Wii users connect their systems to the internet.

For every one person you help connect you get a free 500 points along with the person you help connect gets 500 points too. If you help ten people connect you get a gold status which allows you to download all first party NES titles for free. If you help connect 20 people then you get a platinum status which will let you have access to all first and third party games for NES, SNES and the N64. The service starts this October.

It is a nice deal, but do you know twenty people who don’t have their Wii’s connected to the internet?

Even more colors from Nintendo; Black Wii Remotes, Nun-chucks and Wii Motion+ for North America

Japan has been enjoying their black Wii bundles with Monster Hunter Tri for about a month now, but other regions have been left in the dark the past few months. Kotaku brings light to the situation with a confirmation that Nintendo of America will be bringing out a Black Wii Remote which will be bundled with a black Wii Motion+. To fit the rest of the package there will also be a black Nun-chuck attachment. All of which are set for this holiday season.

The black Wii console its self and the Classic Controller Pro are still missing though. Hopefully this leaves room for possibly a simular Monster Hunter Tri bundle in North America, but considering the Monster Hunter’s cult status in North America there is a good chance it won’t happen. Until then we will just have to have miss-matched controllers and systems.

Nintendo patents football attachment for Wii

Nintendo is constantly patenting new ideas, some see the light of day like Miyamoto’s Kind Code and others never appear again. Siliconera reported on one new patent to Nintendo’s ever growing list, a football controller.

The Wiimote is inserted into the football controller much like you do with the Mario Kart Wii Wheel. The football grip allows for realistic throwing which can calculate the angle and force of the the throw. It can also track motion for shifting left and right to dodge players and tracks  jogging arm motions for running.  Some of the pictures also show the addition of the Nun-chuck and Wii Motion Plus to improve sensitivity and the accuracy of the Wiimote’s gesture recognition. Other then that it is another attachment that will probably only be useful for a few games if it ever sees release. More images after the jump
