Nintendo of Europe's Connection Ambassador Promotion

To encourage more Wii users to take advantage of their online services, Nintendo of Europe will be launching their “Connection Ambassador Promotion”. This new plan lets currently connected Wii owners get free Wii Points by helping other Wii users connect their systems to the internet.

For every one person you help connect you get a free 500 points along with the person you help connect gets 500 points too. If you help ten people connect you get a gold status which allows you to download all first party NES titles for free. If you help connect 20 people then you get a platinum status which will let you have access to all first and third party games for NES, SNES and the N64. The service starts this October.

It is a nice deal, but do you know twenty people who don’t have their Wii’s connected to the internet?

Game Arts’ Shadow Walker: Boy of Shadow, Fairy of Light coming to WiiWare

Game Arts was one of the key developers of Super Smash Brothers Brawl and developed both  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up, and the Grandia series.  So far they have had a fairly good track record, but still are relatively unknown. While their new title most likely won’t boost them into stardom as a developer, “Shadow Walker: Boy of Shadow, Fairy of Light” is looking to be one of the more visually impressive games on WiiWare.

Shadow Walker is about a boy named Lux who has a fairy partner named Popo. For some reason Lux is only allowed to walk in the areas covered by a shadow. At the moment those are the only real details.

Shadow Walker WiiWare October 10th for Japan at 1,000 points. North Amercan release is confirmed, but there is no set date. Screen shots after the jump

LostWinds: Winter Of The Melodias in Edge magazine

Lost winds was one of the first and best games on WiiWare. Despite its short length and a few minor  issues here and there, it performed quite well.  Developer Frontier Developments announced in Edge magazine that LostWinds: Winter Of The Melodias is almost complete.

Toku now has the power to change the season between Winter and Summer, which will help him solve puzzles. He can also now swim and create cyclones that can drill through rocks or pick up water.

Frontier Developments  listened to many of the criticisms of the first game and addressed them. They have added a map, an in game hint system and increased the overall length. There are more ways to interact with NPC and they will have more to say in this game then in the first game.

Glorbs, the blob like enemies in the original, make a return but will have many different forms.  Tokus will retain all of his old skills collected in the first game and the story picks up almost immedietly after the first one ended. While no release window was given, since its almost complete, we could assume it will be available later this year or very early next year.
